This is how the Resale App could look for your customers:
1. On your website your customers will click on a button of your choosing (something like “Sell your item”, “Sell now” or “Consign now”)
2. The app will popup, if they have an account and are logged in the app will show your customers’ past/current offers
3. If your customer has never sold to you before this offer page will be blank
4. To sell an item your customer simply needs to click the button “Add an item to sell”
5. Next depending on your business’ Resale App customization, customers will be able to select which category they wish to sell
6. If they are selling a designer handbag then they will be prompted to find their bag
*If your business wants to accept other categories of items, then your customers would be directed to request a manual quote.
7. If they are selling a designer handbag then they will be prompted to describe the condition
*If your customer isn’t selling a designer handbag, then they will be prompted to request a manual quote where they will also describe condition.
8. If they are selling a designer handbag then they will receive an offer (which can be instant with prices displayed or a manual offer)

When a customer wants to sell or consign with you, there are usually 4 steps before completing a transaction:
Trendful helps you to seamlessly complete these steps:
There are two possible scenarios.
For instant offers a shipping label is automatically sent to your customers. If your customer has requested a manual quote or manual offer then you can generate and send shipping labels to your customers directly from your Trendful Admin account.
You have received the item.
If the bag is authentic and the condition is correct, you can validate the transaction and confirm the offer price on the admin portal. If the condition isn’t correct and the offer needs to be adjusted accordingly, you can adjust the price on your Trendful Admin account and send out a new offer to the customer.
You can pay your customers using Trendful Payouts. Simply connect your bank account (if you haven’t already) and click on the offer you would like to payout.
Trendful manages the implementation of the Resale App onto your website for you.
Depending on the platform hosting your website, Trendful will send you instructions to let us access your website HTML page, where we will integrate our plug-in app.
See below for the estimated timeline:
Week 1 – Integrate and customize (i.e. wording, pricing strategy, disclaimers, etc.) the Resale App onto your website as a theme preview
Week 2 – Testing phase, you will get to try out the Resale App and make additional small changes at this time before it goes live at the end of the week
*During week 1 of the Resale App integration, Trendful will create and onboard your business to the Trendful Admin (back-office) and the Price Database.
**The integration process can take longer depending on your level of customization. This timeline is just a rough estimate.
Read more about the Resale app here.
Your business will not be affected during the integration process, you will be able to run your business/online store as normal while we integrate the interface onto your website.
Some of the features that you can customize include:

Businesses often have very complex commission structures that aren’t transparent, Trendful has made a quick analysis to help you find the commission structure that will work for your business needs.
For buyout offers, the commission structure will vary depending on the designer, the model, and the business’ inventory levels.
For example, if Louis Vuitton is your best-seller, you may be able to reduce your commission and give higher offers to your customers. When increasing your offers and marketing them properly, the resale app is a powerful tool to expand your customer base and increase your sell-through rate. For more information about how to market the interface, read our introduction to marketing the Trendful resale app here.

For more details about the commission structures you can find in the industry, read our introduction to creating a pricing strategy here.
In addition to instant quotes you can choose to have manual quotes on your customized interface. Your customer will simply be prompted to upload pictures of their item(s) in order to receive a quote from you.
Read more about the features and customization with the Trendful resale app here.
If a customer cannot find their item(s) on the resale app then they can request a manual quote by uploading pictures. Once a customer has requested a quote, you will receive an email from the Trendful team.
In the body of the email you will receive the following basic information:
You can quotes directly to your customers from your Trendful Admin account
You can choose from the following shipping carriers: USPS, FedEx, UPS, and Canada Post.
You can choose to opt into insurance, to protect the items being sent to you. Insurance fees are 1% of the fair market value (i.e. if the estimated fair market value is $890, you will pay $8.90 in insurance fees). You can turn off insurance at any time.
Trendful has developed smart algorithms to collect, clean, analyze products and evaluate prices. Each week, we collect millions of data points for a collection of 35K handbags and 40 top designers. The data comes from Google Shopping, TheRealReal, Rebag, Fashionphile and other marketplaces. It includes prices, condition, popularity and other metrics we use to refine our algorithms.
For the most popular handbags, we have collected hundreds of prices and condition metrics associated with each price point. Taking into consideration parameters such as trends and the data source reliability, we are able to evaluate the current resell fair market values for many models. Considering that the price of an item depends on the condition, we compute the resale fair market value for each of the four conditions: excellent, great, good, fair.

Trendful has developed a pricing API tailored for the resale market. Access to our APIs is included with our Enterprise plan.
If you want to know more, contact the sales team here.
You can access the Price Database through your Trendful Admin account.
You and your buying team can do an unlimited number of searches with our Price Database if you either have the Trendful Premium or Trendful Pro subscription plans.
We will be expanding our Price Database to include designer jewelry and watches by the end of 2022.
