How do we compute resale fair market values?

Trendful has developed smart algorithms to collect, clean, analyze products and evaluate prices. Each week, we collect millions of data points for a collection of over 70K designer handbags and watches, from 43 handbag designers and over 100 watch brands. The data comes from Google Shopping, TheRealReal, Rebag, Fashionphile and other marketplaces. It includes prices, condition, popularity and other metrics we use to refine our algorithms.

For the most popular handbags, we have collected hundreds of prices and condition metrics associated with each price point. Taking into consideration parameters such as trends and the data source reliability, we are able to evaluate the current resell fair market values for many models. Considering that the price of an item depends on the condition, we compute the resale fair market value for each of the four conditions: excellent, great, good, fair.
