What do the numbers on my wallet balance mean?

Your wallet shows four figures. Only the last one decides whether a payout can go out.

In your wallet is the cash Stripe is holding for you right now. Payouts you have already sent have left this figure, so you never need to cover them twice.

ACH refills on the way is money you started moving with an ACH transfer from your settings. It is not spendable yet. A wire you have sent does not appear here at all, because we only learn about it on the day Stripe receives it, so there may be money on its way that this figure cannot show.

Reserved for payouts waiting to send is every bank payout marked Started, including its fee. These are payouts you have already committed to, so the money is spoken for. PayPal and Venmo payouts are not counted: they are paid from your own PayPal account, not from this wallet, so they never reserve anything here.

Available to send is your wallet minus what is reserved. This is the figure a payout is checked against, and it is the one that can be negative: a negative number means the bank payouts already waiting add up to more than you currently hold.

If it is negative, adding the difference is usually all it takes, and the waiting payouts go out by themselves without being sent again. Two things can hold one back even with the money there: we still need the customer's bank details, and a payout that has been sitting in Started for 30 days expires and has to be created again.
